Vale Royal Abbey Golf Club was officially opened on October 1st 1998 and has since developed into one of the most desirable golf club’s in Cheshire. The Club is renowned for its extremely friendly and relaxing atmosphere, and our Members are proud of the welcoming environment that is provided at all times. While the Club is privately owned and operates as a predominantly traditional Member’s Golf Club, with policies being agreed by the Club’s Management Committee, the Club welcomes visiting golfers and parties as green fee paying visitors.
This section of our website is devoted to the Golf Club and its associated facilities. We hope you will find all the information you require, whether you are considering Membership, looking for a suitable venue for a golf day, or just a sociable fourball in different surroundings.

The course was designed by renowned British Golf Course Architect Simon Gidman, and is set amidst beautiful Cheshire countryside. As such, the course enjoys breathtaking views to be enjoyed throughout your round.
All greens are constructed to USGA specifications, which along with the naturally free draining site, enables the course to remain open and in a fully playable condition all year round, irrespective of the weather conditions. All tees remain in use throughout the year eliminating the need for winter tees or mats, and the use of Competition tees is also permitted all year round for general play for those wishing to be challenged by the course at its longest.

Each hole is individually characteristic and provides a true golfing test, requiring imaginative shot making with every club in the bag whilst remaining enjoyable to play for all standards of golfer. The course is 6,463 yards in length from the white tees, 6,160 from the yellow tees and 5,581 from the red tees.

The Club’s practice facilities include a 200 yard long practice area with distance markers to allow honing of club distance control. Short game skills can be improved on the practice chipping green while putting can be grooved on the practice putting green. All practice facilities are managed and maintained to the same exacting standards as the golf course itself, thus meaning they are in use all year round, regardless of the weather conditions.
